Assembly and taking it apart again

We put furniture and outdoor kits together, and we take them apart when they have to move: bed frames, treadmills, shelving, sheds and carports.

Inside the house

Bedroom suites, entertainment centers and desks. Some arrive flat in a box, some come off a moving truck in pieces, and either way the job ends the same, with every panel where it belongs and nothing wobbling. A bedroom suite usually means a bed, a dresser and nightstands, so count the boxes before the day and give us the total. In the garage it’s storage racks and shelving. If the garage has to be cleared before the shelves go up, we can haul the junk off first and build in the empty space.

Sheds, carports, pergolas and fences

Metal sheds and carports, pergolas and vinyl fencing are all on our assembly list. They’re bigger builds than a dresser, and they need level ground under them. A carport kit can run longer than the car it covers, so measure the space against the kit’s dimensions before the delivery truck comes. Then tell us whether the kit has arrived, what it sits on (slab, deck or dirt), and whether there’s an old shed or fence to take out first. That part is demolition, and we haul off what comes down.

Why take a treadmill apart?

Because an assembled treadmill often won’t fit through a doorway, and it’s heavy enough to hurt someone on the stairs. One of our posts this year was a treadmill that needed full disassembly, careful transport and reassembly at its new location. The deck, the heaviest single piece, came out carried by the crew.

Do movers take beds apart?

We do. One family we moved this year had their beds taken apart at the old house and set back up at the new one, so the first night in the new place was in their own beds. That review came in on October 16. A 3-bedroom house, like the one we moved on July 1, can mean three bed frames before anyone touches the couch. If you’re booking a move, list everything that has to come apart, and tape each hardware bag to its frame.

What helps before we get there?

A few things save time on any build. Open the boxes and check the parts list against what’s inside, so a missing bag of bolts turns up the night before instead of halfway through. Leave the instructions with the parts. Clear the room where the piece will stand, plus a patch of floor beside it to lay everything out. For an entertainment center or a tall bookcase, decide where it goes before it’s built; once it’s together and loaded, moving it across the room is a two-person job. Outdoors, mark where the shed or carport should sit and keep the kit dry until we arrive.

Quotes are free by call or text at (931) 675-2475, or through the form. Send the brand and model if it’s a kit, or describe the piece if it’s already in the house. The boxes, foam and scrap the build leaves behind can go with junk removal. We’re in Lewisburg: Spring Hill is about 39 minutes north, and Murfreesboro about 65 minutes.

Assembly: what people ask

How much does furniture assembly cost?

We quote it free once we know what it is. Send the brand and model of the kit, or describe the piece, and tell us how many items there are. Call or text (931) 675-2475. If the assembly is part of a move, it goes on the same quote as the moving.

Do you put together metal sheds and carports?

Yes. Metal sheds and carports are on our assembly list, along with pergolas and vinyl fencing. Have the kit delivered and the ground leveled before the day. If an old shed has to come out first, we can tear it down and haul it off as part of our demolition work.

Can you take a treadmill apart and move it?

Yes. This year we took a treadmill fully apart, moved it, and put it back together at its new location. Assembled treadmills are heavy and often won’t pass through a doorway, so taking them down is the safer way. Have the manual or the model number handy for us.

Will movers take beds apart and put them back up?

Yes. One family we moved this year had their beds taken apart at the old house and put back up at the new one, so they slept in them the first night. List every bed when you book, and keep each bag of hardware with its frame.

Do you build pergolas or put up vinyl fencing?

Pergolas and vinyl fencing are both on our assembly list. Tell us the kit, the size, and what it’s going on: a slab, a deck or bare ground. If posts go into the ground, have any buried lines marked before the day. Call or text (931) 675-2475 for a free quote.

Can you put together garage shelving and storage racks?

Yes. Storage racks and garage shelving are on our list, along with desks and entertainment centers. Tell us how many units there are and whether they anchor to the wall. If the garage has to be cleared first, we can haul off the junk and then build the shelves in the empty space.
