What won’t the Marshall County convenience centers take?

Tires, commercial waste and anything hazardous. Marshall County runs four centers, open Monday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:50 p.m.: #1 at 2200 Hwy 99, #2 at 3026 Old Columbia Rd, #3 at 1936 Fayetteville Hwy and #4 at 4050 Ostella Rd. Bagged garbage, furniture, mattresses, scrap metal, refrigerators and washers are all fine, provided you can get them into a truck and out there.

Tires go to 611 Hawkins Dr instead, at $2.50 per auto tire, along with used oil, paint and antifreeze up to 5 gallons, between 7:30 and 3:00. The county’s solid waste page doesn’t say a word about construction debris, so a gutted bathroom has no obvious home.

The city’s brush pickup has a long list of exceptions

Lewisburg Public Works picks up brush when you ask for it through the Citizen Request Portal. It won’t take rocks, dirt, stumps, roofing, building materials, glass, garbage, or anything with refrigerant in it. The city also won’t collect debris from a move-out, a remodel or an eviction, or yard waste that a contractor cut.

Those are the jobs we get called for here. A landlord with a unit full of what the last tenant left, a family emptying a parent’s house, a homeowner halfway through ripping out a kitchen: that’s a house or rental cleanout or a tear-out with the haul-off included, and we sweep up after.

Moving across town

From the 1929 Marshall County Courthouse on the square out to Rock Creek Park, where the city holds Goats, Music and More, a move inside Lewisburg is the shortest trip we make. We do whole-house moves with our own truck, and labor only when you’ve rented a truck or need things shifted from one storage unit to the next. Pool tables, heavy safes, hot tubs and pianos are on the list, and a run down to Cornersville is eleven minutes.

Once the rooms are empty, there’s move-out cleaning; a Lewisburg bathroom we scrubbed made our Facebook page in October 2026.

Is there a demolition permit in Lewisburg?

We couldn’t find one published. The Marshall County Building Inspector is at 206 Legion Ave (931-359-0567), but the county’s page doesn’t say whether that office covers addresses inside the city, and it doesn’t mention demolition at all. Call there, and call the city, before a shed, deck or carport comes down.

Waste Management’s Cedar Ridge Landfill is here in Lewisburg too. Neither the county nor the city page we read explains what a homeowner can bring to it.

Lewisburg questions, answered

Where can I dump tires in Lewisburg, TN?

At 611 Hawkins Dr, which is the only Marshall County spot that takes tires: $2.50 per auto tire, between 7:30 and 3:00. The four convenience centers turn tires away. Hawkins Dr also takes used oil, paint and antifreeze, 5 gallons at most. Take the tires there yourself, and we can haul off the rest of the junk pile.

Does the city of Lewisburg pick up remodel debris?

No. Lewisburg Public Works says it won’t collect debris from a remodel, a move-out or an eviction, and the brush pickup you request through the Citizen Request Portal refuses building materials, roofing, glass and stumps. That leaves remodel debris to the owner or a hired crew; we tear it out and haul it away.

What time do the convenience centers in Lewisburg close?

Marshall County’s convenience centers close at 5:50 p.m., Monday through Saturday, after opening at 7:00 a.m. There are four: 2200 Hwy 99, 3026 Old Columbia Rd, 1936 Fayetteville Hwy and 4050 Ostella Rd. They accept furniture and appliances but refuse tires, commercial waste and hazardous waste.

Who issues demolition permits in Lewisburg, TN?

Neither the city nor Marshall County publishes a demolition rule we could find, so ask before you start. The Marshall County Building Inspector is at 206 Legion Ave, 931-359-0567, though its page doesn’t say whether it covers city addresses. Check with the city of Lewisburg too; then we can take the structure down and haul it off.
