Hauling from where it is to where it goes

One big thing, or a trailer-load of material, moved from point A to point B: hot tubs, pallets, vehicles, gravel and mulch.

How is hauling different from junk removal?

Junk removal ends at a disposal site. Hauling ends at an address you pick, like a hot tub going to a new patio, pallets going to a jobsite, or a load of mulch going to your flower beds. If you want the thing gone for good, that’s junk removal. A hot tub can go either way.

The hot tub and the wasps

August 20. This one was heavy, and there were wasps to fight off before anybody could get a hand on it. We got it moved, loaded, hauled and placed safely anyway. Most of a hot tub job is getting it out from behind a fence or off a deck and onto a trailer that can carry the weight.

We don’t list electrical work. Have the power disconnected and the water drained before we arrive, and tell us how wide the gate is. Steps, a slope or a soft lawn between the tub and the trailer all matter, so mention those as well.

Bought it somewhere, need it brought home?

That’s furniture hauling, and it goes back to our first weeks. Back in April, one of our earliest customers had us picking up furniture and bringing it to her house, piece after piece. A sofa from a yard sale, a dresser from a relative in Shelbyville, a table off an online listing: if it fits on the trailer, we can collect it, strap it down and carry it inside at your end. Tell us both addresses, whether the seller will help load, and whether someone will be at your place to say where it goes.

Gravel, sand, dirt and mulch

Our August 21 post offered exactly that: gravel, sand, dirt, mulch or other materials, picked up and delivered. Tell us the material, roughly how much, where it’s coming from and where you want it dumped.

Dirt goes the other direction too. In Lewisburg, the city’s brush pickup excludes rocks, dirt and stumps, so the pile left over from a project needs someone with a trailer.

August 20: a heavy hot tub, a nest of wasps, and the tub loaded and placed anyway.

Pallets, vehicles and animals

June 12 put two loads on the trailer in one day: a pool table picked up and delivered with every piece arriving secure, and the display coolers, glass fixtures and store furnishings from the Bakin Cakes closing. We’ve hauled stacks of pallets on the flatbed trailer too. Vehicles are on our list, cars and off-road machines both. When someone in the Lewisburg & Marshall County Facebook group needed a car brought from Columbia to Lewisburg, we offered to schedule the trip. Live animal hauling is on the list as well. Tell us what animal, how many, and whether you have the trailer or crate it’s used to riding in.

Long hauls and getting a price

Long-distance hauling is one of our listed services, and furniture hauling sits right alongside our moving work. For a quote, call or text (931) 675-2475 with the pickup address, the drop-off address and what’s going. There’s no charge for the quote. Heavy equipment is on our moving list, so a machine that has to cross the county is quoted the same way. If the item is a pool table, say whether it’s coming apart or riding whole.

Answers

Hauling: what people ask

How do you get rid of an old hot tub?

We load it onto the trailer and take it away, the same way we moved a heavy one on August 20, wasps and all. Have an electrician disconnect the power and drain the water before we come. Tell us whether it sits on a deck, a slab or in a fenced yard.

Can you deliver gravel, sand or mulch?

Yes. We pick up gravel, sand, dirt, mulch and other materials and deliver them, as our August 21 post offered. Tell us the material, the amount, where to pick it up and exactly where you want it dumped. A pile in the right spot saves a day of wheelbarrow trips.

Do you haul cars, ATVs or side-by-sides?

Yes. Car hauling and off-road vehicle hauling are both on our list, and we’ve offered to schedule a car run from Columbia to Lewisburg for someone in a local Facebook group. Tell us whether the vehicle runs, rolls and steers, and where it’s parked, so we know how it gets onto the trailer.

Do you haul livestock or other animals?

Live animal hauling is on our list. Call or text (931) 675-2475 with the animal, how many, the distance, and whether you have a trailer or crate it’s used to riding in. We’ll tell you on that call whether the trip is one we can do safely.

Can you haul pallets or building materials?

Yes. This year we’ve hauled stacks of pallets on our flatbed trailer. Pallets and other bulky materials can go from a store or a yard to your jobsite. Tell us how many, the rough weight, and whether there’s a forklift at either end or everything gets loaded by hand.

Do you do long-distance hauling?

Yes, long-distance hauling is one of our listed services, for furniture, equipment and vehicles. We’re based in Lewisburg, so a run to Nashville is a little over an hour before anything is loaded. Send the pickup and drop-off addresses, what’s going, and the date it has to arrive.
