Which side of the county line are you on?
Your property tax bill will tell you. On the Williamson side, the county convenience centers are free to residents who show a physical driver’s license, and they take household garbage, brush 3 feet or shorter, and construction and demolition waste. They don’t take commercial loads, and the county counts a rental property as commercial.
On the Maury side, the county centers want proof of residency. A 2021 newspaper report describes open-top boxes there for bulky and demolition waste; we couldn’t confirm that on a county page, so call ahead. Maury’s paid tire drop-off is at 1233 Lawson White Dr (931-375-6402).
Landlords on the Williamson side
That rentals-count-as-commercial rule is the one to know. A landlord clearing a unit after a tenant leaves can’t bring the load to the Williamson centers. For us it’s an ordinary rental cleanout: we empty the place and haul it off, and if the unit needs scrubbing for the next tenant, we do move-out cleaning as well.
Curbside brush, and the GM plant
A Williamson Scene article, undated, says brush goes out by 6:30 a.m. on Tuesdays, on a south route and a north route that split at Duplex Rd. The article may be old, so confirm the schedule with the city. We couldn’t find a published bulky-item rule at all.
