Where your message goes and what the site keeps: our privacy policy.

What does the Bell Buckle convenience center take?

Household garbage, by the car or pickup load, plus recyclables and scrap metal. The Bedford County center at 115 Peacock St is open Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and it refuses commercial and construction waste.

Tires are a separate trip: $2 each, rims off, on Wednesdays at 816 SR 82 South. Scrap metal is one thing the Peacock St center does welcome, so old bed frames, a rusted grill or a busted metal shelf can go there by the pickup load. Furniture, mattresses and appliances aren’t named on the county’s list for Bell Buckle, so ask before you bring them. Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, the gate is shut.

Construction waste and big trailer loads

Those leave town. Since mid-July 2026, the county has pointed them to Local Transfer on Cedar King Rd in Shelbyville, a private site that charges by the load. That covers an old porch, a torn-out kitchen or a trailer heaped with what came out of a shed.

For a whole house or outbuilding, our cleanouts do the sorting and the hauling together, and demolition covers the porch or shed itself.

Curbside pickup and permits

We found no curbside schedule and no demolition permit page for Bell Buckle. Downtown is a registered historic district, so it’s worth asking the town before you take anything down, even a small building out back.

Moving in and out of Bell Buckle

We move households in and out of Bell Buckle, a few miles or state to state, and take single pieces like a pool table or a piano. If you’re only clearing out after a move, our move-out cleaning leaves the rooms ready to hand over. Shelbyville is the closest town on our list; the Shelbyville page has the county seat’s bulk pickup prices.

Answers

Bell Buckle questions, answered

When is the Bell Buckle convenience center open?

Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. The Bedford County center is at 115 Peacock St in Bell Buckle and takes household garbage by the car or pickup load, plus recyclables and scrap metal. It refuses commercial and construction waste, so remodel debris needs another route.

Where do I take construction debris from Bell Buckle?

To Local Transfer on Cedar King Rd in Shelbyville, a private site that charges. Since July 14, 2026, that’s where Bedford County directs construction waste and big trailer loads; the Peacock St center won’t take them. If you’d rather skip that trip, we tear out and haul off debris from Bell Buckle jobs.

Does Bell Buckle have curbside junk pickup?

Not that we could find. Bell Buckle doesn’t publish a curbside or bulky-item schedule online, so ask the town before you set anything at the road. The county’s Peacock St center takes household garbage four days a week; for furniture or a cleanout, we come out from Lewisburg, about 51 minutes away.

Do I need permission to demolish a building in the Bell Buckle historic district?

Ask the town first. We didn’t find a published demolition permit rule for Bell Buckle, but downtown and the Webb School have been a National Register historic district since January 1976. Check with Bell Buckle and Bedford County before anything comes down; we handle the demolition and hauling once you have the answer.
